Knuckleheads, Hm?

So, according to Michelle Obama, young people are all "knuckleheads." I don't know much about the context of that comment - it had something to do with health care and all that debate, which I know very little about. But I think she was arguing that young people should stay on their parents' health care plans because they're "knuckleheads." Regardless of someone's position on letting someone stay with their parents health care until they're 26, her reasons for pushing that are total baloney.

Mrs. Obama, you love to vacation, so here's an idea for your next vacation: take every single person in power who agrees with you about 18-26-year-old adults, and go make a tour of military bases. There are plenty of 18-26-year-olds there - are they "knuckleheads?" No. No, they are not.

Happy Birthday, Little Cousin!

Today is the birthday of Nathan, my littlest cousin! Who, once he's grown, will be my biggest cousin. (Really, he'll be super tall.) I wish I was there to celebrate with you, Nathan, but I'll see you over spring break! Love you!

Valentine's Day (A Day Late)

Well, no, I didn't have any huge romantic date yesterday, which I'm actually very happy about. Instead, I went to a dance class. I miss dancing so much, and yesterday was just the best fun! There is no better feeling than mastering a dance routine. It's surreal, wonderful, and completely uplifting. Any guy who wants to date me is going to have to beat that.

Yesterday one of my friends said, "Happy Single's Awareness Day." I teased them about it, of course, but in my mind, Valentine's Day shouldn't feel any different for single people. It's a celebration of love, right? So... is romance the only love there is now? Of course not! Valentine's Day is for everyone, not just people in a relationship. It's about the brothers or sisters who play with you, the family who looks out for you, and the friends who are only a text message away! For anybody who's wondering what I'm talking about, go watch Frozen. That movie will, a) completely blow your mind, and b) never make you feel left out on Valentine's Day again.

To finish off, here's a quote from Olaf the Snowman:

12 Parade

Now that I'm out of classes, I'm watching the 12Parade in downtown Seattle. The Lombardi Trophy is currently passing in front of the Kiro7 cameras on the Legion of Boom car. The reporters just said, "This city has never seen this trophy." So true! This is ours! Go Seahawks!!!!!!!

**Update: 700,000 people there!

The Distant Roar

If I go outside in the frigid Milwaukee air and close my eyes and listen very carefully, I can hear a far-off roar. I can't make out any distinct words, but I know what they're saying.

It's the 12th Man shouting, "SUPERBOWL CHAMPIOOOOOOOONS!!!!"

Oh my goodness, I am literally crying!!! I want to be there, oh how I want to be there, I've never wanted to be in Seattle more, but I can hear them all the way out here! It's the first time in franchise history that my Hawks have won the Superbowl, and I will always remember this day!

I wish I were in the middle of that distant roar, shouting with everyone else, but my heart is there! And I am wearing my Russell Wilson t-shirt and bringing my Seattle Seahawks teddy bear to all my classes tomorrow!

Seahawks!!!!

Oh yeah!!! Today's the DAY!!!!! First Superbowl win in franchise history! Someone on Facebook said that the celebration in the streets in Seattle tomorrow will equal the celebration of the end of World War II.

And it's going to be soooooo much fun when they win... out here in Packerland, heads will explode. Especially if Golden Tate catches the game-winning pass again.

Gotta go now, I get to go help set up for the Superbowl party in the Underground! Go Hawks!

And while waiting for the game to start, I finished the first Graystone draft. (1:50 PM)
(Oh, P.S. that has absolutely nothing to do with the Seahawks: I heard that next semester, there'll be a class about Tolkien!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO taking that!)
