When I first saw that name, I thought it had to be an actor, or maybe a book character. But, in fact, Chris Kyle wasn't an actor. He wasn't a book hero. He was a real hero. An American hero.
He was known as the deadliest sniper in the history of the US military. I saw online that he killed about 225 Iraqi insurgents in his time as a sniper. His job would have been to cover troops on the ground, or perhaps to take out key enemies without endangering innocent civilians.
He was murdered yesterady afternoon by a fellow US veteran in a gun range in Texas.
Rest in peace, Chris Kyle. The country you fought for will live on.
