Thanksgiving

I think this year, everything I have to be thankful for has really been hit home.

I'm thankful for my family, immediate and extended.

I'm thankful for the new Pastor at my home church, and all he's doing for my congregation.

I'm thankful for the professors here at WLC, who always work so hard to help their students.

I'm thankful for Fairview, where I go to church when I'm out here, and everyone there. They have always been so kind.

I'm thankful that I got all my papers turned in on time. Now I just have to worry about semesters and declaring my majors.

I'm thankful for my job as a reasearch assistant. I've learned so much, both historically and technically.

I'm expecially thankful for all my dear friends - Faith, Em, Tom, Sarah, Adam, Caleb, and of course Selah, who were all there when I needed them. I am so, so, so blessed to know all of you.

I'm thankful for people like Faith's boyfriend, who are willing to protect our countries by serving in the armed forces. Without them, this country would not be celebrating Thanksgiving.

And to finish my by-no-means-complete list, I am thankful that I am (still) nearly done with Graystone. I will get this finished before 2014. Actually, I kind of have to. I'm down to about 1,000 words to finish it, and even I can't put that off forever.

God bless everyone. Could my readers please leave a comment about what they're thankful for?

See You Tonight

Great news today! When I got back to the dorm from a play (Shakespeare's Women - really great play, definitely recommend seeing it if you get the chance) there was a note from my roommate on the little white board we have stuck to the fridge. It reads: "Already left, see you Saturday or Sunday."

I meant to post about this forever ago, but I kept forgetting. Faith's boyfriend is in the army, and he's graduating from basic training this week! Faith is taking off classes to go see his graduation. She's been so excited about this for months, and now she's really going to see him. Have a great time, Faith! And thank you, Paul, for your service to this wonderful country.

In honor of my roommate's adventure, I thought it would be best to post a link to one of my favorite new songs:

God Bless America!!!

The CMA's

Where in the world has October gone? November and December are my favorite months, so I'm not complaining, but jeepers. October flew by!

Anyway, two days ago were the CMA (Country Music Awards.) I have a nifty little ap on my iPad, which lets me watch stuff that was on ABC, so I watched it today. Watching Luke Bryan open it with Florida Georgia Line made my day. That was fantastic! But my favorite part was still Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. There is a reason they're the favorite hosts in country music. When Brad showed up in that ridiculous referee-style tuxedo, and Carrie said, "You look like a referee going to prom," I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

Never change, country music!
