Sixty-nine years ago in 1944, Nazi-held France was invaded by American, British, and Canadian troops. Americans landed on Omaha and Utah beaches. At Omaha, over two thousand Americans died in the first few hours of the invasion. I was thinking about them today as I watched The Longest Day, and it hit me that some of them were younger than me. I mean, wow - that kind of courage is incredible.
God rest those brave men and boys who died fighting tryanny to defend freedom.
