Twitter Argument

Okay...

So, I know one person visited my blog. I also know it was not because of my books. And it actually began with events in Texas. I'm sure most people haven't heard, but a state Senator - not a national Senator - filibustered to stop a law that prohibited late-term abortion. Why? Well, obviously because unborn babies are still BABIES. But also because late-term abortions are very painful and dangerous to women. Most women who die in abortions die from late-term abortions.

But remember, abortion is about women's health!

Anyway, the ghouls of Texas began dancing for joy when this state Senator succeeded in her filibuster. But the depravity didn't stop there. On Twitter, they named their movement with a hashtag. Care to guess what that hashtag is? It is, mind-blowingly enough: #TexasSpring, in reference to the Arab Spring. For those who don't know, Arab Spring is the term used to describe the violence in Africa and the Middle East. It mostly applies to Egypt, but the murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, and Sean Smith. In other words - Benghazi.

I mean, wow. A total disrespect for life both born and unborn. Anyway, I pointed this out to one Twitter ghoul. We had a brief argument - I pointed out the message that the hashtag #TexasSpring sent was disrespectful and violent, and he defended himself with the First Amendment. Funny how much they love the First Amendment when they can't think of any other justification for what they say. Anyway, this ghoul eventually said, "I apologize, but I have to stop. I can't argue with a fan of CELTIC WOMAN."

Great argument, ghoul!

Anyway, I know he went to my blog because I don't mention Celtic Woman anywhere on my Twitter feed or page.

So... onto more pleasant topics... I'll be at Issaquah tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to it. I hope to see a friend there! Also, my brother and I had a list of songs we wanted from iTunes, and I'd bought Mom an iTunes gift card last Saturday, but she hasn't mentioned going music shopping, so today I went to Target and used my Target gift card to buy another iTunes gift card. I knocked off about twelve songs from our list - my twelve favorites. They're all country music, and I think Karl was disappointed I didn't get any Blake Shelton or Florida Georgia Line, but I'm glad to have more music.

I also started watching the Bachelorette online yesterday. Truthfully, I thought it was kind of dumb, but I found myself cheering on Bryden, the Iraq War veteran, and Brandon, who seemed more into Desiree than any of the others. Of course, in the third episode, Desiree let Brandon go, and I found myself really sad. That's when I realized I needed to get out of this and get a bit more grounded in reality. I mean, good grief. That's another reason I bought all the country music - reality. I'm not interested enough to watch the rest of the Bachelorette, but I will bet that Brandon becomes the next Bachelor. I may watch it then, but... no.

I've found a new favorite artist: Luke Bryan. My favorite Luke Bryan song is, beyond a doubt, I Don't Want This Night to End. I've seen the music video probably more times than I should have. Why doesn't that kind of stuff happen in real life?

Update: I was going to post a link to the YouTube video, but then I remembered that there's a word in it that I don't want on my blog.

D-Day

Sixty-nine years ago in 1944, Nazi-held France was invaded by American, British, and Canadian troops. Americans landed on Omaha and Utah beaches. At Omaha, over two thousand Americans died in the first few hours of the invasion. I was thinking about them today as I watched The Longest Day, and it hit me that some of them were younger than me. I mean, wow - that kind of courage is incredible.

God rest those brave men and boys who died fighting tryanny to defend freedom.

Church Today...

So, when two girls you've known your whole life start fighting over a visitor at church, is it a) awkward, b) puzzling, or c) hilarious? Answer: C!

There was a freshly-graduated engineer from Purdue visiting our church - very well cut, quite smart. I found him somewhat attractive, but the two other single girls at church just about went nuts over him.   After he left, they began arguing over which one was allowed to pursue this guy.

So, assuming we didn't scare him off - next Sunday will be veeeeeeeeeeery interesting.
